Green Tourism

At Fletchers we are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) which has been set up to establish good practice in tourism businesses in relation to the environment. Our commitment to Green Tourism affects all aspects of our business and we aim to work with our guests, suppliers and contractors and our staff to carry out good environmental practice at Fletchers.
Every 2 years an assessment is made by GTBS advisors looking at areas such as energy efficiency, waste management, wildlife conservation, transport and community involvement. At our assessment in January 2013 we achieved a Silver award.
We aim to work with our guests to provide them with the facilities and information to make green decisions as part of their holiday at Fletchers. Whether it is shopping locally, visiting attractions that also subscribe to green practice or ensuring that waste is minimised and separated for recycling, guests are able to contribute to good environmental practice. We encourage wildlife spotting around the farm and keep guests informed on what they might see and where. Why not have a look at our Facebook page to see the images of the amazing wildlife we have here that we've captured on our trail camera? We hide the camera around the farm and have caught Deer, Otters, Greater Horseshoe Bats and many other incredible species going about their business! We are currently implementing plans for a new lake and increasing our provision for bats, dormice and many other native species.
Our electricity is supplied by Ecotricity on a 100% Green tariff which means that during your stay at Fletchers the electricity that you use does not contribute to greenhouse gases. If you are a 'Big Six' customer at home, why not have a look at the Ecotricity website?
